Craft 2.0
Tuesday, June 26, 2012
It was a sad day when Sue Tyler announced she would be not be continuing Craft 2.0. One of the first of its kind, Craft 2.0 success lay in its great venue and Sue's clever curation. The best of craft invited together 3-4 times a year. The final market had seen a move, into the city, proving hugely popular.
And it is in the city where Craft 2.0 picks up again. Bought earlier this year by dear friend Becky Rogers, the market is up and away again, with smiles from buyers and sellers alike.
Its unique nature will continue to be nutured by Becky, who is highly qualified to pick up the reins and succeed. The Rogers have made NZ home, after Ryan was offered a position at Weta Workshop. They have embraced Wellington and our rich Arts culture. (Their son, Parker, is a good friend of Griffin's - an instant Lego connection when they first met.) Becky has a BA from the University of Utah and a pile of experience in management and sales. She is also a jewellery designer and has always supported craft and other local designers.
If you are in Wellington this Saturday do come visit. It is a fabulous way to shop, and an inspiring day out.
