Sage & Clare Hand Towel - Tilda

$46

A screen printed hand towel made from absorbent and textural waffle weave cotton in a signature, lace pattern.

The geometric, lace print adorns this aspirational towel, inspired by traditional crochet explored throughout their latest Love Shack Collection. Dark turquoise punctuates the soft coral background, for a versatile colour palette. Hand printed on soft, mercerised waffle woven cotton, this light weight but absorbent towel is a must have for the bathroom or kitchen.

Pair with the other towel designs in the collection for a stylish contrast of colour and pattern. Finished with playful coral fringing for that vintage boho look.

They are 50 x 80cm.

Coral and dark turquoise front, coral fringing.

Made from 100% cotton.

Screen printed by hand, this technique is more than worthy of celebration. We work with artisans in India to bring life to what starts as nothing more than an idea. The designs are in stark contrast to traditional printed textiles, but their aim is always to preserve this time honoured printing through re-invention.

This progressive hand towel is made by producing a number of screen panels, with a new panel needed for each colour. Once each of the panels are complete, the printing begins by their artisans in a layered approach. The waffle is printed panel by panel and colour by colour, until the full design has been brought to life. A practice that can take weeks at a time and one we’re proud to support for the preservation of this tradition and livelihood of their artisans.

Both shopaholics and globe trekkers, it’s easy to see how a fateful Christmas in India captivated their hearts. Taken in by the energetic streets, riotous colours and artisanal products, Sage and Clare was borne. Australian husband and wife duo, Chris and Phoebe had always been passionate about colour, texture and the sense that some objects have real heart. This became the crux of Sage and Clare and they started it with the aim of offering fellow interior lovers a place where they could find global treasures that are handmade, bohemian, soulful and eclectic. Serious about ethical practices, Phoebe and Chris spend months of every year overseas working side-by-side with weavers, block printers, and screen printers (to name a few) to bring Sage and Clare designs to life.
