Pashom is a fair trade children's toy, dress-up and Christmas decoration company based in Sydney, owned and founded by Fiona Chadwick. The brand began in 2002 while Fiona was living and working as a volunteer teacher in Pokhara, Nepal, where she formed a close affinity with the country and its people, and was captivated by the beauty and quality of products made by local cottage industries, especially the fair trade, ethical businesses run by industrious and inspiring Nepalese women. Today, every Pashom piece is still handcrafted in Nepal by highly skilled women artisans, felted and stitched by hand from premium New Zealand wool and finished with non-toxic dyes. The Nepalese artisans receive above-average award wages, an annual bonus, paid sick and annual leave, and the option to work from home, and a portion of profits supports the ongoing education of artisan's children.
