Neuw Denim was founded in 2009 in Fitzroy, Melbourne by three friends: Pär Lundqvist, Richard Bell and Stephen Little, a Swedish-Australian trio united by a shared love of denim, music, art and vintage design. The name is a nod to Neuwlandstraat in Brussels, where creative director Pär Lundqvist lived while altering and collecting vintage denim, a collection that now tops 2,500 pairs, some dating back to the late 1800s. That archive underpins everything Neuw makes: modern jeans obsessed with the detail, fit and workmanship of the originals. Neuw is an independent denim brand that puts cultural integrity over profit, fusing restrained Nordic design with Melbourne's laid-back creative energy.
