Christmas Conversations: Saben - Roanne Jacobson

Christmas Conversations: Saben - Roanne Jacobson

Who are you going to be spending Christmas with this year and where?
This year we are having Christmas lunch at our house. We have family joining us in Auckland from New York and the Wairarapa.
Does your family have Christmas traditions? What are they?
I guess our tradition is actually more about what we don’t do. I’m not a fan of Christmas trees, real or fake. One year my youngest son brought an orange traffic cone into the house to pose as a tree and he placed a handmade star at the top of the funnel. The irony is that at that time of year orange traffic cones are more available.
The main Christmas meal, is this through the day or in the evening? What do you hope will be on the menu?
Being mainly in retail and service industries, it’s a very busy time of year for all of my family, so we all pitch in, and everyone brings something. The only items that make a repeat visit every year are seasonal fruits like strawberries and cherries and most years our favourite meringue dessert Eton Mess.
What’s your top pick as a Saben gift this year?
One of the most popular bags this summer is the Sling bag, we have 2 styles the Nikko and the Marcia. I love the hands free, only essential’s purpose of these bags. They are a perfect addition to your wardrobe over the summer even if you’re not festival hoping or heading to the beach, it’s the summer, other than sunglasses, keys and a phone what else do you really need?
And what are you hoping is wrapped under the tree for with your name on it?
The Porto tote as I have a family trip planned for early next year and the Porto will be the perfect addition as its big, light, can be flat packed when not in use and it’s made of recycled nylon and leather so its indestructible.
