Christmas Conversations: Sage x Clare - Phoebe Bell
Who are you going to be spending Christmas with this year and where?
Heading to Queensland this year to spend Christmas with my Dad and his partner – the first time in a long time that I’ll see him on Christmas day. We’re embarking on a caravan adventure with my husband and the kids, weaving our way up there over about 10 days.
Does your family have Christmas traditions?
We have loose family traditions… A big Christmas tree always goes up in early December and the whole family decorates the tree with Christmas carols playing in the background. We also let the kids open a gift each on the night of Christmas Eve (a tradition I’ve carried through since I was a kid) as they can barely contain their excitement. Oh, and we’ve reluctantly joined the Elf On The Shelf bandwagon – which certainly gets me outta bed in a hurry when I’ve forgotten to move him the night before 😊.
The main Christmas meal, is this through the day or in the evening? What do you hope will be on the menu?
Most years we split our time between my family and my in-laws, where we alternate Christmas lunch and dinner each year. Fair to say I am full to the brim by the end of the day. This year, being in Queensland, I hope it’ll be a light and refreshing lunch… lots of tropical fruit, fresh salads and maybe some prawns on the barbie.
Is there a recipe you could share?
Ha ha I’m not much of a cook so I’m really into a good hack. I discovered the most insane hand crafted ice creams (you can get them here) that I love to pile up in a bowl and have everyone take their pick!
What’s your top pick as a Sage x Clare gift this year?
The Nisha Terry Kimono in Palm (coming soon!). I love its versatility… great in the bathroom but also around the pool.
And what are you hoping is wrapped under the tree for with your name on it?
If we’re talking sky’s the limit, I am obsessed with the Lazy Lounge Chair from House of Orange.
Better keep dreaming!!!
