Kamoi Kakoshi
Born from a 1923 flypaper company, MT has become the world's most beloved name in washi tape. Japanese manufacturer Kamoi Kakoshi, based in Kurashiki, spent decades making industrial masking tapes for painters and craftspeople, until 2006, when three Tokyo women sent them a handmade book they'd created entirely with Kamoi's industrial tape. That single package sparked a new direction. In November 2007, the first MT craft masking tapes were released, and a global phenomenon was born. Made from traditional Japanese washi paper with gentle, non-toxic adhesive, MT tapes tear cleanly by hand, reposition without damage, and leave no residue behind. They come in hundreds of patterns, colours, widths and finishes, perfect for scrapbooking, planner decoration, gift wrapping, card making, journaling, labelling, or bringing a little joy to an otherwise ordinary surface. We stock MT in both of our Wellington stores and online, with free urban NZ shipping on orders over $150.
