Knit Shepherd
Knit Shepherd is an Auckland textile studio founded by Sarah Coxhead, a designer whose career in film, television and international hand-knitting took her around the world before she returned home to New Zealand in 2021. The studio is a small-scale prototyping lab devoted to New Zealand's natural fibres - mostly Merino, with occasional appearances from Camel down and other beautiful yarns - and to telling the stories of where they come from. Each piece blends traditional hand-knitting with digital knitting machines, and collections are often named for the landscapes that inspired them, from Taranaki to the Canterbury Plains. The result is timeless, well-crafted knitwear that feels distinctly of this place. Shop Knit Shepherd online at Tea Pea with free urban NZ shipping over $150, or come and see it in person at one of our two Wellington stores.
